Matted, not framed. Painted en plein air at the Mission San Antonio in Monterey County, CA, during a weekend paint out/retreat with the California Art Club. I wanted to paint something different and more contemporary than the traditional views of the mission and decided to go more abstract by zooming in closely. I loved the color of the adobe walls and wanted to capture all the different hues found in it, especially in the shadows.
