This portrait was commissioned as a present for legendary blues musician Buddy Guy's 71st birthday. It was presented to him at his concert in Fort Worth, TX, Aug 31st, 2007, and will hang in his Chicago Blues Club "Legends".
I included Stevie Ray Vaughan in the portrait because Buddy was with him the night he died. They had performed at the same concert along with Eric Clapton, and Buddy told me he always carries a memento of Stevie with him. Since I'm also a Texas based artist I thought it would be fitting to have Stevie Ray in this portrait. I decided to also include Muddy Waters because he was such a huge inspiration to Buddy.
