John Lee Hooker has been called "King of the Boogie" ever since his song "Boogie Chillen" became his first big hit. When I came across this photo of him I was immediately struck by the intense gaze in his eyes. I added the neon blue sign to complement the warm tones of his skin and clothing and to refer to his biggest hit "Boom Boom".
