This is one of the children I'm painting for my "Moni's Kids" Project. All proceeds will go back to the children portrayed in this series. To learn more about this project, please click here or you may follow the progress of this series on my blog here.
About Jimmy: Jimmy was brought to New Life Children's Home from Bien Etre Social (Social Services Agency) suffering from malnutrition. He was around 3 years old when he was brought to NLCH and is now 15. His father said he would return for him when he was better, but never returned. Jimmy has been diagnosed with sickle cell anemia and has had a wound on his leg for 6 years now. He is currently in the U.S receiving treatment. When we first met the kids and told them about our project he was the first one to jump up to have his photo taken! The other boys made fun of him and teased him about being a "model", but he just kept on smiling and laughing. We could feel his kind, good natured spirit. His favorite sport is soccer and he wants to be a doctor.
