This is one of the children I'm painting for my "Moni's Kids" Project. All proceeds will go back to the children portrayed in this series. To learn more about this project, please click here or you may follow the progress of this series on my blog here.
About Gesnel: Gesnel is 10 years old and has elephantitis in his right arm. He came to NLCH 2 years ago when doctors wanted to amputate the whole arm. Miriam wouldn’t allow it, but sought an alternative solution instead. He has had 3 surgeries on his arm already (the last one was in October in Miami), during which several pounds of tissue were removed to help him have more use of his arm. More reconstructive surgeries are needed however to his hand and arm.
